Hi! I’m Cathleen Smith. And I’m a Weekend Widow.
The Urban Dictionary defines a “Weekend Widow” as a woman, married or in a relationship, who is left alone on a weekend. Often caused by the work or work travel schedule of a significant other, this state of “temporary widowhood” occurs on weekends, when most couples normally expect to have the opportunity to be together.
My husband, Dennis, is a musician and the owner of Party On The Moon – America’s #1 corporate and private party band. You can find him [HERE]. With almost 100 dates a year, he’s gone lots of weekends!
We have 3 boys – ages 19, 17 and almost 15, two cats and two black Labs. And even though my weekends are usually pretty full, with the boys getting older I’ve found that I have more time on my hands than I used to. So . . . what to do?
Well, I’m revamping my blog (used to be Scrapitudes). Trying to catch up on lots of half done projects and remodeling the master bathroom. I’m a scrapbooker and photographer, a part-time lawyer, and bookkeeper for my husband’s companies. Oh and I joined the Book of the Month Club!
On the blog, you’ll find a little bit of everything – scrapbooking, remodeling, recipes, books I’m reading, travel, photography (mostly taken now with my iPhone 7 Plus) and who knows what else. I’ll be posting about how my weekends are spent – and perhaps some other stories along the way. Maybe you’ll find something new to try over your next weekend alone!
