These are two things that I just cannot do without! I haven’t yet gotten the hang of keeping my calendar and appointments on my iPhone, and seem to continually gravitate to some version of a paper calendar. And, I’m pretty picky. I need to see the whole month at one time, or I’m lost. No week at a glance for me! But, then, here’s the worst part. I also have to write everything down or I won’t remember for more than a day. I’m sure this has nothing to do with having 3 boys and a husband that travels. Nope, nothing to do with that at all! Anyway, I’ve been carrying around both a calendar and a spiral notebook to compensate for my lack of organizational and remembering skills. But, that also means a bigger purse or tote just to house these items. And, bigger just doesn’t seem to cut it for me. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and make my very own calendar notebook. I chose a few of my favorite BasicGrey patterned papers that I’ve been hoarding (Infuse/Invest and Kioshi/Water Lily), grabbed some chipboard and Mod Podge and got to work! I used tabbed monthly calendar pages from DayTimer and found a really cool tutorial for creating and printing my own notebook paper. I edged the calendar pages with Tim Holtz’s tissue tape (so I could punch more holes for a spiral binding) and added a Photoshop floral brush to each notebook page.
I covered both sides of the chipboard with patterned paper, and then covered the back of the September calendar page with more patterned paper and some inspirational rub-ons. The holes were punched with The Cinch from We R Memory Keepers. I added lots of printed notebook paper, some fibers from BasicGrey and another inspirational message on the front. And, there you have it – or, I guess I should say, there I have it! Everything all in one place. Yeah, Me!!!
