May 14th – It’s the weekend! After a completely whirlwind week, we are finally winding down a bit. Today is a lake day. Beautiful. Sunny. Warm. Lake temperature is 82. Not warm enough for me to get in, but warm enough for my youngest.
So here’s where today’s adventures began. There were lots of people at the marina – but not nearly as crowded as it gets on the weekend during the summer. In fact, during summer, we make it a habit to only come up during the week. Much quieter then.
We have a Malibu Wakesetter. Come on, we have 3 boys. All of whom wakeboard, wakesurf and ski. Me – I only ski. I did get up on the wakeboard a couple of times just to show the boys I could actually do it. But I prefer to ski.
Catching some rays while the boys ready the boat. An odd angle – but it’s the camera. Not the boat. LOL
On the way to one of our favorite coves. It’s windy so the water’s a little choppy. And there’s boat traffic. But on such a gorgeous day, who could stay at home?
First we pulled out the surfboard so H could wakesurf. This is one of his favorite things. But with only 3 of us on the boat, we didn’t have enough weight to make the wake big enough. So this didn’t last too long.
Next we pulled out the wakeboard. First time out since last year and he never misses a beat. Of course we have to play his music over the speaker system – very loudly. So he can hear it . . . ’cause he boards better to music. Too funny.
Had to post this one. Taken on my iPhone. Love how the water is frozen in motion. I wish I could say it was planned, but on a boat – total luck shot.
We then decided to break for a late lunch and check in with my other guys. So across the way we went to our favorite little marina and restaurant. You can’t see the restaurant from the water as it’s up the hill. A really fun place to get really good seafood.
C had to work today and T went up to Riverside to watch his friends graduate. And celebrate a little. Obviously.
All too soon, it was time to head back. Notice who’s driving and who’s sitting up front.
And H and his friend decided to wash off the lake water in the pool. You can barely see John floating in the spa.
Then it was Los Rancheros for dinner and a margarita (or two).
