Back from vacation and I’m finally able to start on my Week in the Life album. Following Ali’s plan, I began with my daily title pages. Using the templates made everything lots easier – even when my printer decided it needed to replace 3 ink cartridges at once. Which, by the way, it can’t do. So, it hung itself up. For at least 40 minutes. Frustrating.
Next, I tackled the majority of my journaling. Again, I followed Ali’s plan and took the daily journaling from my blog posts. Now, this was a first for me. First time keeping up on my blog. And then, first time using the blog posts in my album. It actually was quite easy this way and lots of fun! Think I’ll try it again next time. Maybe for December Daily. Although with that project being a whole month, lots of dedication will be needed. LOL
Here’s another first. These journaling pages were scanned in using my Epson scanner (it’s the Expression 11000XL Graphic Arts Scanner). Well actually it’s D’s scanner. We use it for his business because it’s a large format professional scanner that can accommodate up to 12×17. Which will come in super handy when I want to post 12×12 scrapbook pages. And when it’s dark or rainy outside and there’s no natural light available to take a quick photo. Love you, Honey!
Here are the backs of Monday through Thursday. Notice I did remove the dog hair from the scanner glass. LOL. And, I’m loving the graphite black and white (the one of my feet). I used a RadLab Photoshop plug-in. It’s a little softer and grayer than just a normal black and white.
And here are the backs of my Friday, Saturday and Sunday pages. The fronts are all similar to Monday through Thursday, so I didn’t post them. So far, my album is looking pretty similar to the set-up Ali used. Even though it’s summer (YAY!), keeping track of the boys (and their friends) still leaves me short on time. Following a formula is a lot simpler than creating everything from scratch. Although that’s fun, too. Just more time consuming.
