Finally – Tuesday’s Week in the Life pages are done. This week was quite busy, so not lots of time to work on this project. You can read more about this yearly project on Ali Edward’s Blog.
This is the beginning page for Tuesday. I used another white plastic heart from this year’s WITL kit. I have the Label Album Kit, and am going to have to figure out what to put in the label on the front of the album.
I kept the same layout for how I put together the pages for Tuesday as I did for Monday. My plan is to follow this same page pattern for the remainder of the album. While I don’t necessarily have to have everything match, I do like consistency. The Tuesday card, wood number 2 and the Tuesday label are all the same as Monday. If you look closely, you can see where I mis-punched the hole for the rings in the Tuesday label. I rescued the punch out from my Crop-a-dile and glued it back together. LOL
Next up is the four pocket page. Some of the embellishments and stamps are from this year’s WITL Kit, but some are from past WITL kits and Ali’s Story Kits. I’ve been a Story Kit and Story Stamp subscriber for over a year, and I love everything about these kits. I’ve used them in another of my albums (which I’ll begin to share after WITL is complete), and plan to keep up my subscription for album sequels.
I printed the 3×4 photos 4-up on 8 1/2 x 11 photo paper using my Epson R2880 wide-format printer. I’ve had my printer since 2010, but I think you can still find this model.
Next is Tuesday’s journaling page. I re-printed my blog post for Tuesday, added an index tab and stamp.
Next is the pocket page with 2 4×6 photos. I print my 4×6 photos on an Epson PictureMate Show. I’ve had this printer for at least 2 years. It’s easy to use, but until yesterday, my photos always came out too red. I tried everything – adjusting the temperature and the tint (I use Lightroom 6 for all my photo editing and management), changing the settings on the printer, re-calibrating my monitor (it’s an Apple iMac) – nothing worked. Still had red photos. Until . . . I read that the PictureMate Show automatically converts RGB images to CMYK. The suggestion was to try saving your images as RGB before printing them. Hmmmmm. That got me thinking. In Lightroom’s print module, you can choose a custom printer profile, or you can turn the color management over to your printer. My profile was set to SPR2880 UPrmLstr SprPhoto.ic – a specific profile for my Epson R2880. So I started changing the color profiles and printing sample prints off the PictureMate Show. Well – guess what? If I change the profile to Apple RGB, I get awesome photos off my PictureMate – no more green! (I did try having the printer manage the color and that turned out okay too. Apple RGB just gives me a bit more depth and saturation, which I prefer).
For Tuesday, I had a few more photos than Monday. So, I used Ali’s trick and glued 2 photos back-to-back. Hole punched them with the Crop-a-dile and inserted them directly into the album.
For Tuesday’s last page, I used a plastic “T” from the WITL Kit, a word phrase and journaling. The circle “This Moment” I cut from one of the 3×4 cards included in the kit.
That completes Tuesday. It really is pretty easy putting the pages together for each day. Having posted the blog posts earlier helped quite a bit – by the time I get to this point, the journaling is done, as is most of the photo editing. What takes the longest is choosing the word phrases to put on each photo! I’m using words and phrases from this year’s WITL Kit, as well as from past Story Kits, December Daily Kits and Week in the Life Kits. Too many choices?
